Defamation suite on basis of false statements displayed on public

Can a defamation suite be filed is another group of persons have displayed false and accusatory information about me on public electronic display board, where hundreds of people can see it ? Esp when it can lead to me getting harassed by people who are misled

Greetings for the day, a suit for defamation and for damages can be instituted against a person who has caused any kind of loss and agony to you. Further you can also claim monetary compensation on account of such defamation.

Whoever by words either spoken or intended to be read, or by signs or by visible representations, makes or publishes any imputation concerning any person intending to harm, or knowing or having reason to believe that such imputation will harm, the reputation of such person, is said, except in the cases hereinafter excepted, to defame that person under section 499 of ipc.
