I failed to understand whether you had filed the defamation suit or not.
If you had not filed it than you can filed it now.
Before filing you must know -
That in defamation case you have to explain what is harming your reputation and how?
Your grandfather has spread rumors that you had stolen gold from your own house- yes on this basis you can file defamation case because by spreading false rumours your reputation must have harmed . you must remember that you have to prove these things without that you can't win. There must be prefect proof that he had leveled this false allegation against you.
