Copyright claim on my website accusing of using copyright images

29-Aug-2023 (In Civil Law)
I faced a copyright claim by a company of Denmark on my website accusing me of using copyright images. They are claiming damages but that are used by me following the fair use policies of copyright laws which tells that without obtaining any license, proof or permission i can publish any copyright image for education, teaching purposes. I give gudiance on making fantasy teams and using photos of players to tell my audience their structure, strength etc. What to do now?

though you are right as far as using the copyright images for education, teaching purposes under fair use policies, it is advisable to get the permission or licence from the copyright owner to avoid the present situation like yours. Now what ever has been done has been done. so if they have sent you any legal notice then please reply on the aforesaid ground of fair usage..

If you have received a legal notice for copyright infringement then you must reply to the legal notice within the specified time to present your defence. Not replying to the notice will be considered as you have admitted to the content of their notice. You are allowed to use other copyright articles under fair use but you need to establish that it was indeed a fair use.
