10-Aug-2023 (In Civil Law)
Can a person avail the employment on compassionate ground if his father was a public servant and died in 2008 during service and compassionate employment scheme was shut down during that period. A new compassionate employment scheme takes effect from 5/8/2014.

One would have to see how the scheme is drafted. If the scheme is silent on whether it shall include past employment or not, it is possible that the same could be considered to be included, given its purpose.

You can give representation to the concerned department regarding the compensate job and if you are not satisfied by the proper reply of department or proceeding of department than you can initiate the proper legal proceedings.

Please be a little more specific as to the type of service your father was in. Also, I am sure there must be some other legislation in the previous one is shut down for any reason.

Thank You
