Can private license be used as commercial driving license

22-Aug-2023 (In Civil Law)
I have a private car license and now want to start working as a cab operator where I will run a fleet of taxis but sometime I may also drive in case a driver does not turn up. Can I drive a commercial vehicle using my private car license? If not, what is the penalty for this?

You will need a commercial drivers license to driver a commercial car. One cannot use their private licenses to drive a commercial vehicle. A proper procedure has been prescribed for obtaining a commercial license. Also, the fine may vary from Rs. 100 - Rs. 500.

No, you need a commercial vehicle licence. You cannot drive a commercial vehicle using a normal licence. Penalty is monetary fine and may include vehicle being impounded or imprisonment. Happy to help

No you cannot , there is a separate license for driving commercial vehicles, penalty can vary from simple challan or first time to confiscate vehicle ,

But the real problem arises if you meet with an accident and somebody gets Injured then the insurance company will not pay for the loss of the third person

Please feel free for any clarification
