Can I file a defamation suit if someone calls me a pauper

It is my daughter DVC case where in other side party defamed me by mentioning me as pauper and living with the support of daughters earnings etc , in order to escape/divert issue. I am an IT payer. Having 6 years IT returns , own business, own flat and luxury sedan and i am fully settled. Can I file defamation suit against them

you can file a defamation case(Under section 499 of IPC) against the other side and also file a perjury case (
Section 191 to 201 Perjury - False Affidavits, Statements, False Pleadings etc against the other person) as the other side has lied on oath (lied on their affidavit)

who stated you as pauper and where? is in affidavit or in witness box?
if orally, on whose presence? you should keep evidence.
if there is a documentary evidence, then you can file defamation suit against the person/s who defamed you. you are a solvent one and hence the cause of Acton arises. proceed.
