Can case be filed against me if i helped friend sell his company ipad

I sold a iPad to my boss which I got from my friend to sell so I helped him but now I got to know that it was his company iPad and because of no record of it he sold it through me so I wanted to know that if in future iPad will be tracked will I be arrested or charged for doing fraud and will it affect my dream of getting government sector bank job or any government job?
That since the property which was not owned by you, you have sold it so you are liable to be prosecuted not only you but your boss who presently owned is also equally responsible to retain the stolen property.
