GPA transactions are not valid any more for the purpose of sale and purchase of immovable property for movable property still they can be and it did not convey tittle of ownership to GPA holder as he acted on behalf of his principle. GPA can be both revocable and irrevocable but this must be registered. yes term of GPA is not matter GPA is valid till it is revoked.

GPA is meant to be general power attorney. The attorney has left can not enter in sale purchase of any property except mention in GPA. He can act of behalf of person being GPA holder until unless the revocation of GPA, the GPA can be revoce by sending revocation letter to the GPA holder. Or if it is registered then you have to apply for cancellation of GPA before the concerned Registrar Office.
