Can a son take mother's caste

I have one doubt, the dad is sc caste and mom is mbc caste so the child can get mom caste of mbc?

affirmative, but once you get mom caste in records, it will be difficult to alter the same in future, so better think twice before getting into this and not repeal for the same in future as changing revenue documents is very big hassle.
