Acquiring ancestral property from dwellers settled more than 60 years

13-Jul-2023 (In Civil Law)
My grandmother owns a agricultural land 1.22 acres. we have a house on that land appr. 10 cents. Long back ago my grandmother's father in law allowed some people to live on that land (almost 6 cents) appr. 60 years ago. Their kids stills live on that land. Their was no agreement among them. At that time time my grandmother's age was 11 years. she inherited the 1.22 acres land through her father in law. At that time she was unable to resist the situation. She is still paying land tax and house tax. My grand mother wants to retrieve the occupied land. Is their any possibility to retrieve the land (6 cents)???

As you said you have been paying taxes for that land for long time and if your name in the revenue records then file a declaration suit in civil court in local jurisdiction. So that you can claim your land back.

Since it is the self acquired property of your Grand Mother (GM), nobody can claim that property. Your GM has to file Eviction Petition before the Civil court to evict the kids. You can also ask the court to pay the rents for illegal occupation (from the date of petition till their eviction). Since the property matter are complicated, you can contact me through Lawrato.
