time limit for filing civil suit against cheque bounce case

One of our family friend working in bank has borrowed from me and my wife on many occasions from 2015 till 2016 to the tune of 445000 against sbi cheques for his daughters study and marriage expenses. out of which he has repaid around 178000 till jul 2016. after that he stopped payment. we asked him so many times ..but no response. later in 2018 june we have returned his cheque and issued a notice but no response. again he has called asked for time..but not paid...ow can i put civil suit..

Sir, why did you return his cheque? the reason is not mentioned in the above. let me know about the documents which pertains to loan transactions. Do you have any documents to show that you have given loan to him? The documents are important in connection with the loan transactions. if you have any documents then you can file case against him and recover the amount with interest . The cheque, on demand, legal notice and bank statement are important documents required to submit before the Court.
