Repayment for Cheque Bounce through compromise

06-Jul-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
The complainant has accused me for a cheque bounce for which they agreed that we will settle this out of court. Now I got a hearing date and the complainant has said they are ready for compromise but I’m little bit scared whether they will keep up their word. So I wanted to know if I can initiate a compromise, if so after how many hearings?

You can very well attend the court hearing and appear through an advocate, then communicate through the advocate regarding repayment and the matter can be withdrawn. Repayment and withdrawal can be on the same day in court. Also once you repay the sum, even if the complainant does not withdraw you will have a strong case as the complainant will not have the legal basis to sustain the case.
