How to stop the payment of a cheque legally

sir,gooday for the job purpose one of my friend paid 2lacs so i paid that amount to the agent i have bank statement as proof.now the agent is absconding and they are forced me to write a cheque which i gave them.what if they bounce the cheque.what is the solution. as i have filed the case against the agent who is absconding.
no need if the debt is legally recoverable then only the offence under section 138 of NI Act attracts or else the if any false case is lodged you shall have remedies as per law which shall be inlighted to you please contact an advocate
