How to recover amount in a cheque bounce case

I filed a criminal case on year 2000 against a person for check bounce of Rs.20,000, court sent that to police station for investigation and for last 17 years there is no news. I am not sure whether person is still alive or not, is there any chance to proceed and get money back with interest.

if its filed n pending u will get the amount atlast just stick on to ur matter n proceed as ur advocate directs. also forget about interst its not the forum for reclaiming money with interst.
