Dishonour of Cheque of Closed Account

I gave a cheque with sign of an which was closed 5 years ago, Can he do something legally against me? And if yes can i hear the matter in my jurisdiction instead of his jurisdiction?

your subject is check bounce which is considered under section 13 sheet of negotiable instrument that you must be notice to your opposite party mention what was the reason given but if you want to Subah legal notice to your opposite party that legal notice saved you for long time

yes the cheque bounce case can be reopened as the drawer is liable to the seller and the jurisdiction can either where both parties are residing a closed cheque amounts to bounced cheque and thus the other party gets a rite

yes he can file a cheque bounce case against you. on the issue of jurisdiction it can be valid both place which is where your bank and where he can produce the cheque for payment. for more information you can contact us.

If the cheque was from an account closed 5 years ago, the legal remedy under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is not applicable unless the cheque was presented within 3 months of issuance and a legal notice was issued within the prescribed time. If no timely action was taken, the claim may be time-barred. Regarding jurisdiction, as per recent Supreme Court rulings, the case can only be filed where the drawee bank (your bank) is located. Hence, the matter should lie in your jurisdiction. Consult a lawyer immediately if a case has already been filed
