Chq bounce case under negotiable instrument act.

i m a ex-director of a pvt. ltd. company, one of our business asso. has served me a notice under 138. chq date and dishonor date both are after my resignation & i was not the signature authority for signing the chq. what legal remedies i have if he files a case against me also?
