Can receiving with rubberstamp be considered valid as proof of payment

we paid the money and received rubberstamp on plain paper briefing amount and cheque number 20 years ago. Received notice from firm for cheque return now after 20 years. Can rubberstamp document of firm accountant considered valid as prof of payment in court.

Yes a receipt of any sort on plain paper is valid provided it clearly mentions the amount n receiptant etc .so it will be defence against that case in the court . it needs to be agitated at proper stage in court n not at argument stage only.
