Is Joint Account Required To Receive Award For Co-owned Property?

16-Feb-2025 (In Arbitration Law)
Me and my partner bought a property together and the registery had both our names on it.. now I that the property was in arbitration and we have filed a case, my partner is insisting on opening a joint bank account as he suggests that is the only way we will receive the award. ( I don't trust my partner as he has duped me of some money in the past) .... So is it compulsory to have a joint bank account with him, and only then will i receive the amount we have claimed??

Well, I need to go through your case related Documents before rendering you any sort of legal advice, considering, the Property which you are talking about was the subject of Arbitration Proceedings also!
