My close friend revealed my full name and my address without my consent in an anonymous group chat which has people I want nothing to do with. What steps can I take to prevent stalking and harrasment and further preaches of personal information from this ? I'm a male 23

First, you can send a legal notice addressed to your friend telling him to immediately delete the shared information, and give you a written apology, and confirm that they won’t share it again.Secondly, if he don’t stop and harassment continues, you can approach the court for a temporary injunction order to remove the content and stop any further sharing. You can also claim damages for breach of privacy or defamation.But this all depends upon the intention and reason for sharing such personal information.

I am from Delhi, India, and I was born in 1991. However, when I was in the 10th standard, my date of birth and my father's surname were recorded incorrectly. Since then, I have been using these incorrect details. Is it possible for me to get them corrected?

Yes it is. First, prepare an affidavit stating your correct date of birth (as per your birth certificate) and your father’s correct surname. Next, publish this correction in two newspapers – one in English and one in the local language – so that it is made public. After that, apply for the correction to be published in the Official Gazette. Once it appears in the Gazette, the correction is legally valid and can be used to update all your documents.
