Q: what is the procedure of adding Surname in CBSE documents.

I do not have surname in any of my documents including my educational documents. I was thinking of applying to foreign universities and read that it will cause a great difficulty living there. I have a gazette notification of me changing name so using that I can update my aadhar car and passport. Can I add my surname in my CBSE documents? I had done my 12th in 2015.

As per the latest amendment in CBSE bye laws application regarding changes in name of surname of candidates will be considered provided the changes have been admitted by the Court of law and notified in the Government Gazette before the publication of the result of the candidate.
