Hi. my house is on main road and in market. My house is on first floor and shop under my house if of Snacks shop, he allows people to stand and drink alcohol in car on road. I am not sure what action I can take on top of this. Couple of weeks earlier there were few people fighting and police even didn't did any thing to stop this, even when they know that those people were drinking on road side. I would request you to please advise me to stop this and what action can I take to stop this. Thanks.

Dial 100 and file police complaint against that snacks shopkeeper as drinking liquor substances in public places is clear violation of law and that snacks shopkeeper is also liable for abetting that crime.
Q: What to do client is not paying my payment as per contract
Hi Iam a digital producer who is working on clients show where I am producing a video for him. As per the contract: - 20 percent of payment will be made on delivery of the First version of the video - 30 percent of payment will be made on delivery of Final version of Video The first payment has been made as the first version had been delivered....and now the final version has also been delivered but the client is not paying and is arguing that final version implies unlimited versions until they are happy with the video. However final version from my side means that it is the final version... Hence two versions in total. Should I have written Second and Final Cut instead of just writing final version... Does final version not imply second version? If anyone could shed some light on the matter would be really helpful? Thank you
Advocate Ankit Tuli answered
YOU should file "Suit for Recovery" against the client as he cannot drag on from paying the rest of your due money on the false pretext that he should be happy with the final version. Does the client had stated you earlier I written that final payment will only be made when he shall be "happy" regarding that video. If not than he is only making false excuses. You can also issue a legal notice before filing of the recovery case in court and demand that your due payment should be done within 15 or 10 days from the receipt of the legal notice or else you will file case for Recovery in court.
Q: Is section 138 NI act is effective for filling case on cheque bounce
I gave some one the amount worth 10 crores..For that he has given me cheques and the affidavit also...But now since the cheques have been bounced..Is section 138 is effective because I have not seen any worry on his face since he has political and administrative approach.. sir/madam does cheque bounce cases are effective
Advocate Ankit Tuli answered
Yes they are very much effective regardless of connections any person can have. You should proceed by issuing notices mandatory before filing of cases. Start legal action in this regard as soon as possible due to time limits of the steps to be taken under Section 138 Negotiable Instruments Act.
Q: What to do if the supplier do not deliver goods after payment
I have taken money from my client to supply goods, but my supplier has kept money and delaying it. Now my client is threatening me to go for FIR against me

You should issue legal notice to the supplier and if be still fails to comply then you should file police complaint against him. Annex along with legal notice copy of the documents which you have regarding this transaction.
Q: How to file a dissolve a non registered marriage
Hi, My name is Kevin. I had a traditional marriage with no registration done with my ex in India. However, we have decided to seperate and we haven't been living together for more than a year plus. Now I wish to start a fresh life in a new country with my current girlfriend. We are going to register our marriage in that country. We have set our registration to take place in a month's time. However, because of my past complication, the registry of marriage is requesting that I get a judge order from India's court stating that my traditional marriage has been dissolved. How do I go about doing this? And can the process be quicken, say about one week or so? Pls advise. Thank you.
Advocate Ankit Tuli answered
Even if your marriage is not registered then also you will need a divorce decree from the court so as to dissolve that marriage in a legal manner. If you are hindu and your ex is also hindu and both of you have got married according to the hindu traditions then your marriage will be dissolved under section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act; But if you are not hindu and you didn't got married under the procedure of Special Marriage Act. Then you will need to file a "Suit for Declaration" in India for Declaration from the court that your earlier marriage in India was invalid due to not being conducted under Special Marriage Act and same does not exist in the eyes of law.
