Time period for which lease deed is valid for a government owned land?

a xerox copy i find containing a allotment of letter of land by government.to my father in 1947 .in official record allotment letter of land is not available.in allotment letter time period is not mentioned.what will be the time period for lease deed.land is vacant till today.what is the value of xerox copy.my father name is entered in other rights oinly , not in title.please what is possibilities of obtaining land again

photocopy of the allotment letter has no liability and authenticity in the eyes of law until you produce the original documents. As you have mentioned that the official records does not have the records available as well then how can you prove that the allotment deed was given to you in the year 1947.
