Neighbor forced us to leave our land and now i want to claim it back

We had hold our land for more than 35 years but the vicious neighbor had his eyes on it as we were poor no one had to backup that time 17 years back he forcefully dragged us out of our land with the help of police and some politicians now i want to avenge my land back being the eldest grandson i want to take it back so back in the day we dont had any paper work done except our presence and the home on the land please help me find a way what should be my first step any advice i would really appreciate it thank you!

it is almost 17 years since you were evicted from the property.
so now we need to have some documentation on proof of ownership and also know the reasons for eviction.
normally courts do not entertain any petition that are filed for a cause of action (eviction) 17 years ago. so the cause of action should be recent .
if you can provide some details from sub registrar office on any transactions on your property that was conducted by other parties in recent past then that can be a ground for challenge and reopening the case. It is tough to reopen , but a good lawyer can support you.

You have to obtain land records from the concerned revenue office, than gather other documentary proof which we will advise. Is the land in question under occupation of anybody or vacant. The period of 17 yrs. is beyond the period of limitation for appearing the court for any relief, but we can still seek justice.

you can take the help of the legal services authority in your district court.
in which capacity you hold that particular land for a period of 35 years. you check the revenue records and entry in the
revenue records obtain certified copy of the particulars.
you apply khasra pahani, ror, and sethwar of the particular land in the concern TAHASILDAR office where the particular land is situated. after collecting all this record you approach legal sevices authority.
