If you have the original title deeds other than sale deed you can go with legal procedures viz.. paper notification and complaints other wise it is necessary to go with detailed procedures. Let me know the actual fact

Dear Sir/Madam, once lost the original sale deed you cannot get back original, you have to apply certified copy of the same concerned sub registrar office which it is registered. Before going to apply certified copy, you have to give police complaint for lost in transit, before police station and to publish local news paper for the same and to made affidavit for the same and to apply the certified copy of the said lost sale deed. Hi, You need to register a FIR as early as possible and apply for the copy of it with sub-register office of the jurisdiction where sale deed was registered. You should have this FIR details about loss of property in future.

Please lodge a complaint in Jurisdictional Police mentioning that the Original Sale Deed Lost ( say of the reason or mention that Travel Miss. ) . They will issue the receipt of acknowledgement and place the same before the of the concern sub register office and apply for a certified copy of the Sale Deed.

The copy of the complaint will be in the Sub register office record . It may help you in future for other purpose.
