Common area opposite party want to build something else

we had 100 years old house in village near Sidhpur we are re developing the said house and residence opposite our house is not allowing to build the door on their side were as said door was there since the 100 years. There is 20ft passage between opposite house. Opponent want to build the toilet.We had registered the police complaint, in spite of police complaint the said opponent has started building toilet in front of our house.
The resident opposite your house cannot stop you to make any construction as long as the construction is made within the limits of your property. If the resident opposite your house wants to build a toilet on the public road then you can file a complaint in the municipal corporation for unauthorized construction.
