Can a will, attached to a lok adalat compromise petition, changed?

14-Mar-2023 (In Wills / Trusts Law)
My maternal grand mother had signed a compromise petition in lok adalat wherein she bequeathed all her property between her 2 sons through a will, on equal ratio. Now she wants to change the will and instead of 50:50 ratio, she wants to make it a 60:40 ratio in favour of younger son. Can she do so or the will attached to the compromise petition of lok adalat will stand valid?

As per the query you have raised some issues ( 1) Whether the then will shall be modified after sad demises of Testator? As per the Transfer of Property Act once the testator had bequeathed his/her property to the Legatee equally and after her sad demises, Legatees challenging the the then will then as per the law last Will shall be the final will and it can not be modified after her sad demises.
It can only be challenged when the Testator executed the property through Will which is not his/her property and compromised petition for modification of will before Lok Adalat shall not stand valid as per the law.
