What is the legal process to get in to business with US based company?

21-Oct-2023 (In Startup Law)
I want to start a Clothing Brand where I dropship customized goods in the US with the help of Printful (A US based wholesaler) which will fulfill my orders in the US. They have their Head office in california. I want the details from the scratch, what I have to do to get started legally. Thank You

I wish you all the best for your new business. Will you be booking orders from US customers in your India office or do you plan to have an office in USA as well? A lot will depend on your actual plan and future growth plans. If you simply wish to send out customised products design from India, then it would be a simple process of incorporation of the entity, local registrations and IEC code (if required). But your contracts with Printful will need to be robust and compliant with Indian law.

You should register your company in India and get an MOU or agreement signed with the Printful of USA. For export/import you need to get excise clearances. You need to establish a mechanism for international transaction of money/payment.
