Hi, in my opinion, the right to education is fundamental right being species of the right to life flowing from Article 21 of our Constitution. Each student must in certain matters be left alone to frame the plan of his life to suit his character and do so as he likes. The restrictions imposed or impediments created at the stage of 10th standard to not to study certain subjects in violation of his fundamental rights especially when he had studied in this school for last ten years. The school is not right in restricting freedom of choice. The freedom of choice in the matter of speech and expression is absolutely necessary for an individual to develop his personality. Therefore, your son can insist on taking up subjects of his choice. Regards
