A RTI application can be filed with the PIO of the Ministry to obtain copy of that letter.

But the best course shall be to ask the Ministry to send a reminder if the reply has not come from the DM's office concerned. Such matters are generally referred tto the Police Station of the area where you reside. So an enquiry can be made at the police station too.

The only way of accessing the letter is by filing RTI application at rtionline.gov.in or by sending hard copy of application to concerned ministry if you have not done this so far. If the subject matter is actually exempted from disclosure then it shall be intimated to you officially. In addition you can also file an RTI application with office of District Magistrate questioning status of the said verification of yours and you can also ask them the time period within which they are supposed to complete the verification and consequence of non compliance with the said time period. As regards filing RTI with Magistrate is concerned that shall be done only by sending hard copy at his/her office.
