The answer to the question is 'Yes'. According to nature of question if the answer may be "yes" or "no" that can be provided against such question. There is no such rule under RTI Act that answer cannot be in the form of Yes or No.

Dear friend, If you want to pin down some government Office/Department for something under RTI by asking 'Yes' or 'No' - the answer is "NO". RTI is a tool to obtain an information which is available in records of the public authority concerned, & not to ask questions intending to fix some individual / grievance or issue. You have not mentioned what is your querry. If you come up with details may be more clarity is given to the issue. Thanks Luv Kumar Advocate

There is no such limitation in the act and rule. However, you can not force the public officer to provide you answers in Yes/ NO, as you are not cross-examining the public officer supplying the information.

I am told that questions for which the answer is either yes or no need not be entertained under RTI Act
