Lenders cannot have the right to harass or blackmail you by threatening to approach your employer. Such conduct amounts to criminal intimidation and unfair recovery practice, which is prohibited under RBI guidelines. You may lodge a written complaint with the bank/NBFC’s grievance officer, escalate to RBI Ombudsman, and if harassment continues, file a police complaint for blackmail and criminal intimidation. You are legally liable to repay loans as per agreement, but recovery must be through lawful means like civil suit or DRT, not threats. Do not succumb to pressure; protect your employment by taking timely legal steps. Immediately consult a lawyer and send a legal notice to your lender who are blackmailing you infront of your employer. It will help to protect your Rights and give protection from your lender.
