Timeline of compliance of NCDRC Judgment after filing review petition

13-Mar-2023 (In Recovery Law)
Hi, NCDRC had passed a Judgment in my consumer matter directing opposite party to refund entire deposit along with interest within 8 weeks. In case amount not paid in 8 weeks, interest rate shall increase. After then I filed a review petition at NCDRC citing certain corrections required in the final order and it took 9 weeks to pass final order in review petition. Review petition was not filed to change the final outcome of NCDRC Judgment rather certain amount corrections whichwere wrongly stated in the NCDRC Judgment. My question is that whether timeline of 8 weeks shall start from the date of original order or date of review petition?

Dear sir The 8 weeks will be counted from the date of the original NCDRC judgement and not from the review order, as you yourself said that the corrections were not related to change the final outcome. Moreover, the review order was silent about the calculation time period of 8 weeks, it means it will be calculated from the date of the original judgement itself. I hope that clarifies it. The timeline of 8 weeks will start from the date of passing of the original order unless in the review petition order any modification has been made pertaining to the 8 weeks time period. To confirm this, it is better to share a copy of the orders and get it analysed.
