Submitting Original sale deed to bank before disbursement

29-Apr-2026 (In Recovery Law)
I have a house which I am selling to the buyer. The buyer has gone for loan via SBI bank. Bank is asking to submit my original Sale deed document before disbursement of amount. I have already submitted the xerox copies to them Now Is it mandatory to submit? Can the bank hold the disbursement? What is the action to be taken to safeguard & ensure that I get my documents in case of any issues.

No, submitting original sale deed is not mandatory; provide certified copy with indemnity. Bank may withhold disbursement per policy. Safeguard: take written acknowledgment and undertaking from bank to return original post-disbursement.
