Someone took loan and made me guarantor complain filed against me

I received a call on my cell from a different city from where I stay saying that some one has taken a loan from a bank and made me the guarantor. the person in whose name the loan is is not known to me. I was told by the caller during the conversation that the person who took the loan has not paid the dues and asking them to reach out to the guarantor (which is me). The caller even mentioned about a police complaint against me. I know for sure that I have not given any guarantee for any loan especially not to this person since I do not know anyone with this name. What bank can do againstme
