Regarding Recovery Of 13lakh Rupees

My dad given 8 lakh with cheque to a person for booking plot and another 5 lakh by cash without any agreement. So the person was cheating with false promises for allocating a plot when we asked to refund our money he does not return we also made police complaint but no result.we have only cheque photocopy. So how to recovery money.he has also involved in fraud certificate of his qualification who working as multi tasking staff.if we filed civil suit case in court, can we get back our money and how long case will continue minimum.

The photocopy of the cheque is an important component to file for recovery. It will also be easier if you have any other emails/SMS/whatsapp/letters showing intent of payment, acceptance of payment of 5lakh in cash over and above the 8 lakhs etc. Recovery suit if settled can finish in less than a month. however in court it can take atleast 2 years or so depending on the judge, court etc. please contact for further information.

yes, filing a civil suit is the best legal recourse and apart from that there will be miscellaneous applications filed before the various police authorities and tribunals if there is a chance of fraud certificate by that person.
