Recovery of 14000 token money against rental apartment

We had given 14000 as token money to landlord although we decided to drop out of the deal before the agreement was made. Now landlord is not returning the token money.
To recover this money of 14000 from your landlord you will require to spend equal amount of money on litigation charges starting from issuance of notice since the amount is small all you can request your landlord is to return the same via a notice issued from you to your landlord however it may be difficult since you have wasted some days by not going ahead with this agreement
