Recovering money held in father's account

my father has expired on x/y/2017.he left some amount in his bank account. we are three brother and two sister and mother, one brother working in abroad.How can we claim maturity?

well by approaching appropriate court. need to file suit as per succession laws applicable in India. it comprised of full set of procedure unless an until you follow that you would not be able to get solution for it.

You need to first check the nominee in his bank account. In case he nominated any of your family members, the said nominee can easily take action.
In case of no nomination, any WILL left by your father needs to be checked to see if it covers these assets.
In case your father died intestate i.e. without a WILL, you need to file a Succession Petition in your concerned court for the same.

Kindly ask from concerned bank, as all the banks have separate procedures. Most of the banks require succession certificate, while most of the banks require only surety of one or two persons for such amount, while some banks require surety of only such persons who have account in their banks.
