Pension Overpayment Recovery Ppo, Grandpa(92) Died Dad(65) Is Retired

Grandfather is ex military man, died in age of 92(approx), bank noticed age of 90 saying pension overpayed we need to recover in equal installments approx 8-10k, but before is recovery grandpa died now they are sending letters to dad to pay the over due 120000, is this we need to pay?

Once the pension is paid can not be recovered as it was the mistake of the management. Moreover if they call upon the son to pay the debt of over paid pension then he can directly refuse it but it has to be done with expertise. Please contact for detailed discussion. Thanks
