Payment default for money give to a friend through online mode.

02-May-2023 (In Recovery Law)
I had given a sum of Rs. 1,00,000 to one of my friends for helping him to start his cafe in Delhi. The amount was given through online mode but no loan agreement was made. Now he is not ready to return back the money he owes me. On WhatsApp he assured to return my money but is now not doing so. What legal remedy do I have?

In your case a recovery suit can be instituted against your friend. But before that it’s mandatory to give him a legal notice regarding all your grievances and warn him either give the money or face legal action which will be at your own cost. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

You can immediately file a police complaint alongwith all the documents and can also proceed for filing of the recovery case, depends upon the materials of your case. The legal recourse would commence after sending a legal notice. For any further legal assistance please feel free to contact. Thanks

Civil Remedy: Step -1 You can send a legal demand notice regarding your amount. Step -2 Incase the step 1 fails, You can file a suit for recovery of your amount in a civil court. Criminal Remedy: You can file a police complaint against him, by making allegations of cheating and criminal breach of trust.
