Not able to recover the loan given to a friend

12-Mar-2025 (In Recovery Law)
My friend needed financial help so I took a loan of 75000 for him because he promised that he will pay the installment on time. But this month he didn't pay the installment and now he is neither answering my call not replying to my messages on WhatsApp. As a proof I have a WhatsApp chats and payment screenshot. Is it enough to file a complaint against him?

Yes, you can file a complaint. If there was a clear agreement for repayment, WhatsApp chats and payment proof can serve as evidence. You may issue a legal notice first, demanding payment. If unpaid, you can file a civil recovery suit or even a criminal complaint for cheating if fraud is evident. However, since you are the borrower, the bank can initiate action against you and is not concerned with the transactions between you and your friend. Consulting a lawyer for drafting the notice and legal action is advisable.

Well, you have the sufficient Documentary and Electronic Evidences available with you to proceed forward with filing your case. A strong case of Cheating can be filed against your friend, who is intentionally ignoring you, so that, he does not have to repay your money.
