Non Payment of Foreign Bank Loan

Hi, I have taken a loan when I was in Middle East and EMIs payment was automated with salary account, post COVID I have lost job and came back to India and could only pay few installments with my savings. I was negotiating with a recovery associate of Bank and was offered concession but I didn’t have cash and trust on the agency. Now I have received a legal notice from a Law firm to repay loan with interest which is almost 40% more than the actual due. Kindly help with valuable suggestions.
