My father was given surety to one person.And he is not paying EMIs so

Dear sir,n My father passed last December.And he gave surety to another person.. That person not paid remaining balance and they sent legal notice.And how can I overcome that issue.who was taken loan and that person still live on his service and he is getting salary also..

hi you could defend on the ground that no assets were passed on to by your father and that you had no liabilities in paying the amount and that your father had expired and that the principal borrower is still alive
