Dear Querist
You can send across a notice through lawyer to hie address asking him to return back money that you had lent to him. Thereafter if he does not respond to your notice, you can file a Summary Suit before Civil Court having jurisdiction for recovery of your money. Alternatively you can also initiate Criminal actions against him for cheat and fraud.
Whether you opt out Civil or Criminal proceedings, in both course of action, you need to have supporting documents to that effect to substantiate your claim on him.

Since you have given very limited information, based on the information you can consider following remedies:

You can approach police and register FIR. If police refuse to take cognizance then approach the court and file a formal complaint under relevant provisions of law. You also have right to institute recovery suit in civil court.

However, consult a advocate near you for effective redressal of your grievance.
