"Dear Lawyer,I am a woman from Pathankot, Punjab, planning to give a casual loan of Rs. 3 lakh to a neighbor (unsecured or with informal security like ancestral property registry custody without formal registration). The borrower agrees to monthly EMI at 10% simple interest for 4.5 years (EMI Rs. 8,056). I have 4 post-dated cheques from the borrower (Rs. 1 lakh each, 4 years dated) and 2 from a guarantor (Rs. 2 lakh each).

it is unsafe I give the amount only on the ancestral registry papers. just for the reason you have to formally ask for the written agreement or you can have to get the cheque from your friend at least to secure your money.
