I gave money to my friend Now he is making reasons without returning

I have given money to my friend, now he is making excuses without returning the money.. Please suggest how can I proceed legally to get my money back. Am an Independent women who is taking care of my family. So pls help me

hi what was the mode of transferring the amount was it through cash or online and any bond or note was executed between you and then you could send legal notice to give money or if he or she failed to pay then you could file civil suit for recovery of money
