How can I recover money lent to professor after asking multiple times

11-Jan-2023 (In Recovery Law)
I am an MBA student. 1st October 2015, my law subject professor on WhatsApp said his brother is critical, and asked for help of Rs.4,000 and will return next Thursday. I gave Rs.5,000 in cash, in hand because I knew how hard is it to get monetary help in such a short notice. He is LLB and MBA from IIM-A, so I thought he won't cause trouble. For long time, he didn't say anything about returning the money, Said his brother is dead, I became suspicious that he may have plans to keep the money. I brought the topic up one day. He said he'll return next week. Then he said his another brother is dead, wait one more week. Then 3 days, then 2 days. Then again a week, and I realized that he is not saying no, but making me beg. I've informed College Director, Admin head, Dean and some professors. Then he agreed to give cheque to dean, and I can take from there. He didn't give it. 15 months, calls, SMS, face to face meeting, everything is done. I have everything on chats & SMS.

Always remember recovery does not necessarily have to be money at all times...It can also be some personal items like cellphone, books etc which have resale value and that can be converted into money...I hope that thought helps...
