Fraudulent LazyPay Transactions Denied Refund - Need Legal Guidance

25-Sep-2025 (In Recovery Law)
My LazyPay account was hacked and unauthorized transactions were made on Myntra via OTP. I reported immediately to LazyPay, cybercrime.gov.in, and local police, and filed an RBI Ombudsman complaint . LazyPay denied refund citing OTP authorization. Bill due 02-Oct-2025. Can they force payment or report to CIBIL while case is pending? What legal remedy do I have if RBI doesn't resolve?

hi you could send them legal notice to pay and refund the amount for unauthorised transactions and if they failed to repay then you could file petition in consumer forum seeking compensation and damages

Since you reported promptly to police, cybercrime portal and filed RBI Ombudsman complaint, LazyPay cannot legally compel payment or affect your CIBIL till dispute is decided. OTP use alone does not absolve them of liability if fraud is proved. If RBI Ombudsman does not grant relief, you may appeal to the Appellate Authority or file a consumer complaint for refund, compensation and to restrain negative credit reporting. Keep all records safely and send a legal notice if any coercive steps are taken.
