Credit card recovery of my dead brother

13-Mar-2024 (In Recovery Law)
Hi, My brother had taken a credit card loan few years back and because of business loss he failed to repay them timely and became alcoholic and he died two years back. He was unmarried and did not own any asset. My parents were allowing him to stay in their house. When we came to know of his credit card non payment we had intimated to the bank that he has expired and there is no asset he has left and we are not in position to pay. Now after two years bank has sent letter for payment. Wat to do?

It is advisable to reply to the said letter sent by the bank. Also legally they cannot recover the said amount from you as you have not inherited any assets of your brother. Also as per law the bank can only recover from you in a case where you have inherited some assets of your brother and they can recover such amount from his estate only if any inherited by you.
