CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND Ex-Colleague cheating me by not paying back LOAN

Sir I have paid 1.25 CR to a family friend / ex-colleague (My bad) in 2019 Jan with a eMail proof / and a promissory Note and all money transfers happened through Bank transfers in 2019. Until 2022 he was friendly with me and kept saying he will return the money with interest.nStarting 2022 he is misbehaving with me and is not showing any inclination to return the money with interestnCouple of lawyers I met are afraid the law of limitation makes it difficult for me to file a suit. nPls Suggest
