Cheated through online transaction with excess payment.

14-May-2025 (In Recovery Law)
I work as a cashier in a restaurant. Last week I had a call from a customer for a parcel and he requested my number for the payment. Hence he paid 7650 instead of 765 and told me that was happened by mistake. He sent me a duplicate screenshot and I sent the difference of 6885 to him. When I checked the balance I convinced that I was cheated. I complained immediately to cyber department and put hold the amount. But when I approached police they advised me not to forward because legal expenses.

You should file a police complaint before the jurisdictional police station or police station situated near the bank area. Then you must file a FIR with the bank manager in order to recover the incorrectly calculated amount. This offence is cyber crime and offensable under BNS and IT Act.
